NYIP

So this week has brought some unexpected events that kept me from blogging on my usual nights. Found out my grandfather had gone into the hospital very early Tuesday morning and then at noon Wednesday he had emergency surgery. So while I'm sorry I missed out on blogging Tuesday night I'm not that sorry, because I was spending time with him and he is now home and doing well. :-)
I finished my summer quarter class at Wenatchee Valley College with an A and now only lack 2 classes to finish my AA degree. I will continue that starting Winter quarter in January. Between now and then plan on finishing up my course work with New York Institute of Photography (NYIP). Hopefully I can dive right in and learn even more so that I am prepared to serve my clients even better this coming fall (family portrait season!).

Making Progress & Free Session Winners

So tonight's blog has little to do with photography...have other things on my mind!
I will say that I have started working on putting together a business plan that will hopefully give me direction for making Katie Clark Photography successful. :-)

Our two winners of the free sessions were Tom McCourt and Michelle Vanerpool! Congrats to both of you!

This seems as good a place as any to rant a little bit (I put it on the end in case you dont want to "listen" ;-) So my parents and sister were in Olympia today working on my dad's sailboat, prepping it for a 3 week sailing trip that is coming up. Anyways, while they were working on the boat the car was parked in the marina parking lot and the passenger side window was broken out and Sara's (my sister) purse was stolen. I'm just so frustrated for them! I guess though this has been happening in the same parking lot the last week or so. About 5 or 6 other vehicals have been broken into as well. Hopefully they catch this person soon!! Thank you for letting me vent and get a little off topic. :-)

First 2010 Senior

Had the privilege of shooting my first 2010 senior the other night! D.S. was a great guy to work with and made my job very easy. :-) We went up to Leavenworth to start off with and ended up in Monitor. Sadie (our shepard/lab mix) tagged along and played in the river while we took pictures. It was a fun evening. Great weather, relaxing and even a little adventure! While in Monitor a very loud siren started to sound. It sounded just like a tornado warning siren finally after about 5-10 minutes we realized it was calling all the volunteer firefighters to the station for a fire! Learn something new everyday! :-)

Senior Season

Senior Season is starting! Meeting with my first 2010 senior in a couple hours. I'm so excited about this year's seniors! Should be a fun year! Be sure to call and schedule if you haven't found your photographer yet! Yearbook needs your portrait by the first week in October!
